Reckon Landing 001

Reckon Landing 001
Assignment: Spring, Stream, and Well

The term "Reckoner" can refer to an individual at Reckon, or to a Reckon unit, such as members of a Reckon family unit.

Reckoners live independently. Typically a Reckoner will have their own, sparse, private living space.

This living area will have within it, or nearby, a clean room. The clean room is a bathroom. The clean room has a sink, a body wash area, and a facility to deal with human waste.

A clean room differs from a typical bathroom. The clean room is not connected to a source of running water, nor to a sewage system.

The sink has a large jar, can, or bottle with a spout towards the bottom. The spout can be opened and closed. When the spout is open, water runs out. A person can use the water to wash their hands. The waste water is caught in a basin, that has a drainpipe that runs into a bucket.

The body washing area has a place where someone can stand and use a washcloth to clean their body. The place may be a large, shallow bucket that collects the waste water.

The human waste facility may have two parts. One part is for solid waste, such as a commode. The other part is for liquid waste, such as a bucket.

The water for a Reckon clean room is brought to it by hand from a central water supply point. This supply point may be a faucet connected to a municipal water supply, or a faucet with water pumped from a well. It could also be a spring, or a stream.

The solid and liquid waste from a clean room is taken by hand to a central disposal area. This disposal area may be a toilet in bathroom connected to a municipal sewage pipe, or it may be a pit in the ground.

Assignment: Put a water container with a spout by the sink in your bathroom. Fill up the water container with water. Position the spout over the sink. Use this water container for washing your hands, and all other tasks where you would normally use the sink. Keep refilling the container with fresh water as needed.
